Golf Seizes 2026 MAC Championship!
Nelson Claims Individual Medalist Honors
Miami Golf captured the Mid-American Conference for first time since 2015 with sophomore Liam Nelson adding to the celebration by claiming individual medalist honors, a first for a Miami golfer since 2003. It marked the first time since 1996 that the Red and White swept both the team and individual titles. JD Fletcher was tabbed MAC Coach of the Year, while Michael Weber earned the Earl Yestingsmeier Sportsmanship Award. Nelson and Brett Podobinski earned All-MAC honors with Nelson also claiming a spot on the MAC All-Tournament Team. The RedHawks will open NCAA Regional play in Bryan, Texas at the Traditions Club from May 18-20.

Miami Softball landed seven players on the All-MAC squads, including five garnering first-team distinction, while Bailey Manos was named Player of the Year, Presley Hosick was named Pitcher of the Year, and Mia Estrello was named Freshman of the Year. The RedHawks ended their season with losses to Western Michigan and Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament.
Miami Baseball wrapped up its home schedule in dramatic fashion, sweeping Massachusetts in a three-game series last weekend. Miami blasted walk-off home runs to clinch Saturday and Sunday's wins. The RedHawks head to Akron for a Thursday/Friday/Saturday series to round out regular-season play.
Miami Track & Field's Mia Boule set a school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.20m at the Billy Hayes Invite in Bloomington, Ind., in the team's last competition before the MAC Championships. She eclipsed the previous record of 4.16m that was set in 2005. Ben Riegel and Ella Garvin each notched top-three program marks in the hammer throw and high jump, respectively. Miami heads to the MAC Championships in Muncie, Ind., May 14-16.
