NCAA Tournament (First/Second Rounds - Morgantown, West Virginia)

Mon, Mar. 23 vs. Kentucky/James Madison, TBD
Mid-American Conference Tournament Champions for the first time since 2007-08, the RedHawks are headed to the NCAA Tournament! Miami travels to Morgantown, W.Va., to face West Virginia in the first round. A win on Saturday, would send the RedHawks to the second round against the winner of Kentucky vs. James Madison. To secure tickets for the games in Morgantown, access WVU's ticket site. Miami will be in section C8 for the first game. Last week, Miami knocked off Kent State in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament, before upending Ohio in the semifinals and topping Toledo in the championship game. Amber Scalia was named MAC Tournament MVP with Amber Tretter and Tamar Singer landing sports on the All-Tournament team. Head Coach Glenn Box earned MAC Coach of the Year honors, while Tretter, Singer and Ilse de Vries were named to All-MAC teams.

Miami is going dancing after the RedHawks earned an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament, the first for the MAC since Miami notched an at-large bid in 1999. The RedHawks will face SMU in the First Four in Dayton, Ohio, Wednesday at 9:15 p.m. The winner heads to Philadelphia to face Tennessee Friday with a chance to advance to the second round against the Virginia/Wright State winner. There will be a pregame gathering at Milano's in Dayton for Miami fans prior to Wednesday's game. (More Information) The NCAA has released the open practice schedule for each of the First Four participants at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio. The Miami University men's basketball team will hold its open practice on Tuesday, March 17 from 1:35-2:15 p.m. in Dayton. This practice is free and open to the public.
Last week, the RedHawks were edged in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals by UMass. Head Coach Travis Steele was named MAC Coach of the Year and was named the Field of 68 Coach of the Year. Peter Suder earned MAC Player of the Year honors and was named a finalist for the Nolan Richardson and Lou Henson awards. Suder, Brant Byers, Eian Elmer, Luke Skaljac and Antwone Woolfolk earned All-MAC honors.

Miami Hockey's Blake Mesenburg earned the NCHC Sportsmanship Award, while Matteo Drobac was named Third-Team All-NCHC. Maximilion Helgeson and Kyle Aucoin inked ECHL contracts.
Miami Softball opened MAC play at 2-1 against Western Michigan last weekend. The RedHawks head to Akron for a three-game Friday/Saturday series.
Miami Baseball went 2-1 last weekend against Bowling Green. The RedHawks host Dayton at 3 p.m. Wednesday in a non-conference game, before heading to Northern Illinois for a three-game weekend series.
Miami Golf finished 10th at the Schenkel Invitational. The team is idle until hosting the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate March 23-25.
Miami Tennis continues MAC play, hosting UMass on Friday and Bowling Green on Sunday. Both match times are set for 12 p.m. The RedHawks picked up a gritty 4-3 win at Western Michigan Sunday after dropping a decision at Toledo Friday.
Miami Track & Field hosts its annual Blizzard Buster on Friday.
