RedHawks Conclude Round One of the Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. — Five golfers from the Miami University golf team competed in day one of the Schenkel Invitational today. Liam Nelson led the way for the RedHawks, shooting an impressive score of 66 (six under par). The RedHawks currently hold fourth place overall heading into Saturday's second round.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Nelson (66) shot six under par today, with six consecutive birdies on holes 16 through 3, and a bogey-free front nine. He currently sits in second place overall.
- Brett Podobinski (69) shot three under par today. His round featured five birdies and an eagle on the seventh hole. Podobinski ended day one of the Schenkel Invitational tied for 10th place.
- Michael Weber (73) posted a score of one over par in round one today. Weber notched three birdies and zero bogies in his last nine holes of play. He is currently tied for 36th place.
- Nathan Vonderhaar (76) shot four over par in his first round. Vonderhaar finished the day with three birdies, and will head into the second round tied for 68th place.
- Cameron Pero (76) also shot four over par today with three birdies, and ended the day tied with Vonderhaar for 68th place.
