Tretter, Deputy Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Amber Tretter and David Deputy are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Feb. 9.

Female Winner: Amber Tretter
In her lone contest of the week, Amber Tretter scored a career-high 32 points and added 13 rebounds and four blocks in a 78-67 win over Georgia Southern (second in SBC) last Saturday. The junior matched her career-high with 11 made field goals and was 9-of-10 from the foul line. Her four blocks were one shy of a career-high as the RedHawks picked up their 12th straight victory. A junior foward from Ferdinand, Ind., she is studying Architecture in the College of Creative Arts.

Male Winner: David DeputyÂ
David Deputy scored twice Friday night, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift Miami Hockey to a 3-2 victory over No. 4 Western Michigan and extend the RedHawks' winning streak to five games. Deputy, the game's First Star, helped Miami defeat a top-five team for the first time since 2022. Deputy added a shorthanded goal Saturday in the series finale vs. the Broncos, lighting the lamp for the third game in a row and earning Third Star honors. A freshman forward from Gurnee, Ill., he is studying Political Science in the College of Arts and Science and Sport Management in the College of Education, Health and Society.
