OXFORD, Ohio – Darrell Hallberg, Miami's Associate Athletic Director for Sport and Facility Services, has announced that Jake Warnke will be joining his staff as Assistant AD for Apparel, Equipment and Operations for SFS, while Zac Collin has been promoted to Director of Sport and Facility Services.
"I am incredibly grateful to the Director of Athletics, David Sayler and Associate AD for Sports and Facility Services, Darrell Hallberg for welcoming me back to Miami University athletics," said Warnke. "I'm excited to work alongside a talented athletic department and support our student-athletes in the mission of Graduating Champions and pursuing championships together. My wife Sydney and I are looking forward to joining the RedHawk community."
Warnke comes to Miami after spending the past six years at Bowling Green as the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Equipment and Licensing. He worked primarily with football, men's and women's soccer, tennis, men's and women's golf, softball, gymnastics, track and field and swim and dive. Warnke was also the Director of Licensing, working with CLC to promote and protect University logo's, word marks and images.
Prior to BGSU, Warnke was the director of equipment for football at Cincinnati, where he was responsible for the day-to-day equipment operations from 2017-19. He was also the director of equipment at Tulsa for one season, where he supervised the equipment operations for all 15 varsity teams.
"I am extremely excited to welcome back Jake Warnke to Miami Athletics as the Assistant AD for Equipment, Apparel and Operations for SFS," said Hallberg. "Welcoming back Jake is a reminder that careers grow in chapters and great partnerships and relationships often times deserve more than one. His knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, licensing and the mid-American Conference will allow him to hit the ground running and benefit our athletic department but more importantly our student-athletes. I look forward to Jake and his wife Sydney joining the Miami Family and being a part of the community."
This will be Warnke's second stint with the RedHawks. He previously was an assistant equipment manager for Miami from 2011-16, overseeing equipment operations for men's and women's basketball, volleyball, track and field and football.
He received his bachelor's degree in sports management from BGSU in 2008, while working as a student manager with football, men's and women's basketball, gymnastics and volleyball.
Warnke is a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).
Collin joined Miami back in the summer of 2024 as the Assistant Director of Sport and Facility Services, working directly with both basketball programs and volleyball.
"Grateful to have the opportunity to further my career and grow into this new role with Miami University," said Collin. "Excited to continue working with all parties to enhance the student athlete experience at Miami."
Prior to Miami he spent two years as an event management coordinator at Ohio State. While with the Buckeyes, he was the primary contact with officials for several sports and worked with 25 different sports over the past two seasons. He also mentored multiple interns and was the on-field team liaison for home football games, working directly with the first aid response team and served as the visiting team liaison.
"Zac has immersed himself into the game operations and event management role at full steam," said Hallberg. "During a brief transition stage, Zac stepped up to the plate and our SFS operation did not miss a beat."
Collin has also spent time helping with multiple Championship events, including the 2024 NCAA Collegiate Fencing National Championship, 2024 Men's Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championship, 2023 Big Ten Women's Lacrosse Tournament, 2023 NCAA Men's Basketball First and Second Round and the 2022 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament.
Collin earned his sport industry degree from Ohio State in 2023 and added a master's degree in sport management from OSU in 2024.
