Boule Crowned MAC Champion, RedHawks Start MAC Championships Strong

MT. PLEASANT, Mich.- The Miami University indoor track team competed in day one of the MAC Championships at Central Michigan University Friday. Mia Boule was crowned the MAC Champion in pole vault, vaulting 3.95m, tying her own fourth-best all-time vault in Miami's program history. Nora Zubillaga qualified for finals in the mile, Rachel Smith qualified in the 800m and Riley Betz qualified in the 60m.
Miami heads into the second day of competition with 13.5 points, good for ninth place in the meet standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kate Hallie threw a personal best of 17.35 in the weight throw event, which is the eighth-best throw in Miami's program history. This throw secured her ninth place in the competition. Sophia Ili also threw a personal best, 14.90, and placed 23rd.
- In the mile prelims, Zubillaga ran a 4:50.10 and Marisa Heil ran a 4:56.34. Zubillaga placed ninth and qualified for finals; Heil placed 15th.
- Rachel Smith and Keena Sanders competed in the 400m prelims. Smith qualified for finals with a time of 56.98, placing fifth; Sanders finished with a time of 58.39 and placed 25th.
- Riley Betz, Camryn Dunn and Lauren Jessup-Aiken competed in the 60m prelims. Betz qualified for finals at eighth place with a time of 7.58, Dunn placed ninth with a time of 7.59 and Jessup-Aiken placed 24th with a time of 7.76.
- Boule won pole vault with a vault of 3.95m, which ties her own fourth-best program vault earlier this season. Emily Eterovich and Addison Crichley took seventh and eighth, both vaulting 3.75m.
- In the 800m prelim, Eve Traficanti ran a 2:13.28 and took ninth place, while Avery Emerson finished in 2:16.76 and took 23rd.
- In the 200m prelim, Dunn ran a 25.29 and Betz ran a 25.67, placing 16th and 22nd, respectively.
- Cara Razavi finished 24th in the 5000m final, running a time of 18:07.22.
- In the distance medley relay, the RedHawks took eighth place with a time of 11:57.57. The DMR team consisted of Zubillaga, Rachel Smith, Emerson and Traficanti.
- In long jump, Kylie Adams took 24th place with a jump of 5.25m.
