RedHawks Conclude Indoor Season at Second Day of MAC Championships

MT. PLEASANT, Mich.- The RedHawks returned to Central Michigan University to compete in the final day of the Mid-American Conference indoor track and field championship meet. Ella Garvin secured a bronze medal with a third-place finish in high jump. The RedHawks finished the championships in 11th place with a total of 26.5 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
● Kate Hallie threw 13.37m for a 10th-place finish in shot put.
● In high jump, Garvin took third place, securing six more points for the RedHawks with a jump of 1.75m.
● Nora Zubillaga placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:50.29, picking up four more points for Miami.
● Rachel Smith took eighth place in the 400m final with a time of 57.08, gaining another point for the RedHawks in the team standings.
● In the 60m final, Riley Betz placed 7th, scoring 2 more points for the team with a time of 7.64.
● Zubillaga and Monica Guijarro competed in the 3000m event. Zubillaga took 16th place with a time of 9:48.84 and Guijarro took 28th with a time of 10:07.12.
● In the 4x400m relay, the team of Keena Sanders, Avery Emerson, Rachel Smith and Camryn Dunn finished in 11th place, running a time of 3:57.16.
