Hallie throws the ninth-best weight throw in Miami's program for second place

RedHawk Throwers Compete in Flag City Tune Up, Hallie Wins Shot Put

FINDLAY, Ohio-The throwers of the Miami RedHawks indoor track and field team traveled to Findlay, Ohio, to compete in the Flag City Tune Up Invite, hosted by the University of Findlay. Kate Hallie won the shot put event, throwing 13.80m and placed second in the weight throw. Her throw of 17.01m is the ninth-best all time in Miami's program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the weight throw, Hallie secured second place with a throw of 17.01m which is the ninth-best all time throw in Miami's indoor program history. Sophia Ili threw 13.87m and placed ninth, Kristen Berwanger threw 13.70m and placed tenth, Sharron Kagan threw 13.46m and placed 11th and Caroline Kagy threw 12.61m and placed 12th.
Hallie won the shot put with a throw of 13.80m. Sara Cupp took fifth with a throw of 11.49m. Ili took seventh, throwing 11.21m and Ava Luczak and Kagy tied for eighth place, both throwing 11.17m.

In men's shot put, Reilly Worthington took second place with a throw of 16.33m, Blake Presley took fourth with a throw of 15.72m and David Lorek placed sixth with a throw of 14.23m.
The men took eighth through 11th place in shot put, Owen Billeter (16.77m), Gabe Asbury (16.02), Lorek (15.68) and Worthington (14.59), respectively.

The RedHawks travel to South Bend, Ind., tomorrow to compete in the Alex Wilson Invite at Notre Dame.
