Miami Moves Into 15th Place in Hawaii

LIHUE, Hawaii — The Miami University golf team moved up two places in the standings during the second day of competition at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate. The RedHawks shot 288 for the day (eight over par), climbing to 15th place. Miami tied for the second-largest jump in the standings of any school in the 19-team field. Liam Nelson posted the best round of the day for the Red and White with a 71.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Nelson shot a 1-over-par 71, including five birdies in his first 14 holes, and is tied for 45th place heading into day three at +4.
- Cameron Pero had three birdies on the front nine and produced a round of 72 (two over par) to also move to +4 for the tournament.
- Michael Weber moved up 13 places to a tie for 76th after a round of 72 (two over par); he sits at +8 through two days of play.
- Brett Podobinski is also tied for 76th place after a round of 73 (three over par), including a birdie on the par-three 17th hole.
- Tyler Anderson shot a 77 today and is tied for 92nd place with a total score of 10 over par heading into Saturday.
- Competing as an individual, Joseph Canitano shot a 79 and is now 14 over par for the tournament.
