RedHawks Fall Short at Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Miami University women's swimming and diving team competed at Buffalo on Saturday. The RedHawks fell short, as the Bulls claimed a 171-129 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
UP NEXT: The RedHawks will now turn their attention to the MAC and MVC Championships. The women head to Akron, Ohio for the MAC Championships from Feb. 25 to 28. The men travel to Evansville, Ind. for the MVC Championships that also takes place from Feb. 25 to 28.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The RedHawks road meet started with the women's 200-yard medley where the women's A team finished first. Ella Ziegert, Natalie Gilson, Kaylin Herbet and Julia Waechter turned in a combined time of 1:41.16
- Audrey Conley finished second in the women's 1000-yard freestyle, earning a time of 10:19.57.
- After that came the women's 200-yard freestyle, where Waechter led the RedHawks with a third-place finish, as she recorded a time of 1:51.39.
- The 100-yard backstroke followed where Ziegert finished first, as she turned in a time of 54.90.
- Gilson was third in the women's 100-yard breaststroke earning a time of 1:02.75.
- Gracie Gregory claimed third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:01.86.
- The women's 50-yard freestyle followed where Herbet was first with a time of 23.41.
- Sydney Rice earned a first-place finish in the women's 3M dive as well with a score of 273.30.
- Herbet was first in the women's 100-yard freestyle posting a time of 50.84.
- Madison Watschke secured second in the 200-yard breaststroke, as she earned a time of 2:17.87.
- After that was the women's 500-yard freestyle where Gregory was first, recording a time of 4:56.28.
- Up next was the women's 100-yard butterfly where Ziegert took second (55.46) and Gilson finished third (55.84).
- Rice earned a fourth-place finish (251.63) and Mia Meinhardt followed right behind with a fifth-place finish (242.40) in the women's 1M dive.
- Herbet sealed a second-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:03.05.
- Swimming events concluded with the women's 400-yard freestyle relay where the women's A team finished second. Waechter, Jenna Halliday, Ziegert and Gregory turned in a combined time of 3:22.45.
