Deputy Wins Rookie of the Week For Third Time

COLORADO SPRINGS--Â The National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced its Players of the Week presented by KJ Branding today, and Miami freshman forward David Deputy was named the National's Rookie of the Week for the third time.
Deputy recorded his first career hat trick Saturday to help Miami finish off a sweep of Omaha, the RedHawks' first conference sweep in nearly four seasons. Deputy lit the lamp twice on the power play and added a shorthanded goal, getting on the board three times before the midway point of Saturday's contest, and was named the First Star of the Game. His hat trick was the first by a RedHawk in Oxford since December 2022 and propelled the RedHawks to their most goals in a conference game since Jan. 2020.

This marks the fifth Rookie of the Week honor for a RedHawk so far in 2025-26; Deputy's three ROTW awards are the most for any player in the conference this season. Deputy and the 14-8-2 RedHawks are off this week before returning to action at St. Cloud State on Friday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. ET.
