Miami Men's Golf Marches Ahead in Minnesota

INDEPENDENCE, Minn.— The RedHawks secured sole possession of fifth place after day one at the 2025 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational, with a total score of 572, or four above par. They are one stroke shy of fourth-place Louisville in the 15-team field. Tyler Anderson leads the Red and White and is tied for third place on the leaderboard, shooting four below par.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Anderson (68-70=138) finished the round tied for third place, four strokes below par. He ended both of his rounds below par, finishing the first round three below par and the second round one below par.
- Brett Podobinski (73-67=140) advanced 21 places to end the day tied for eighth place. He is two below par, and he ended the second round four below par. He shot three birdies in his second round, ending the day with four.
- Michael Weber (73-74=147) shot five above par, shooting three birdies in each round. He ended the second round with two consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th hole.
- Cameron Pero (75-74=149) ended the day tied for 59th place shooting seven above par. He shot a birdie on the 18th hole of the first round, totaling three throughout the day.
- Joseph Canitano (73-81=154) shot 12 over par and is in 74th place.
