Popa, Perry Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Dominique Popa and Kam Perry are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Sept. 29.

Female Winner:Â Dominique Popa
Dominique Popa recorded two shutouts last week, adding to her conference-leading total of five. Popa had nine saves last week, her most in a two-game span this season, and moved into fourth place on Miami's career shutouts list with 17. A junior from Odenton, Md., she is studying Kinesiology in the College of College of Education, Health and Society.

Male Winner: Kam Perry
Kam Perry recorded four catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-0 win over Lindenwood. His 122-yard performance extended his streak to three-straight games with over 100 yards receiving and he capped his day off with a career-long 66 yard touchdown versus the Lions. He also blocked the first punt of his career, resulting in an eight-yard touchdown for Jermaine Agee. A redshirt junior from Atlanta, Ga., he is studying Liberal Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.
