For their performances last week, Molly Creech and Malcolm McCain are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Oct. 12.

Female Winner: Molly Creech
Molly Creech recorded 4.71 kills per set while maintaining a .431 hitting percentage to help the RedHawks take down Ball State on the road in four sets and Central Michigan at home in three sets. In total, the sophomore outside hitter had 33 kills (4.71/set), 20 digs (2.86/set), three blocks (0.43/set), one assist (0.14/set) and one service ace (0.14/set). Creech also went 45-for-45 (1.00) in serve receive over the two matches. The win over Ball State marked the RedHawks' first road victory versus the Cardinals since Oct. 25, 2019. A sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, she is studying Finance in the Farmer School of Business.

Male Winner: Malcolm McCain
Malcolm McCain finished the contest versus UMass with eight tackles and a pass breakup, but his biggest play of the game doesn't show up in the stat sheet. With one second on the clock, and the RedHawks leading 20-19, McCain sniffed out a reverse on a potential  game-winning two-point conversion to capture the victory for the Red and White. A Redshirt junior from Snellville, Ga., he is studying Finance in the Farmer School of Business.
