Miami Drops to NKU in Three Sets

OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University volleyball team (5-6) fell to Northern Kentucky (4-6) in three sets (20-25, 23-25, 24-26) on Friday night at Millett Hall.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Miami will head down to Northern Kentucky for an afternoon match on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Despite a rough start in the opening set, the RedHawks used several kills and capitalized on Norse attack errors to come within five at 14-9. Down 17-11, Lindy Radaszewski and Molly Creech sparked the offense with multiple kills, narrowing Northern Kentucky's lead to 21-18. The RedHawks ultimately fell short as the Norse took the first set 25-20.
- The RedHawks led 6-5 in the second set after Kamryn Utley and Gentry Warrick delivered a pair of service aces. Kills from Lydia Michelin and Radaszewski extended Miami's lead to 12-7. With the set tied at 15, Warrick and Creech each added a kill for a two-point edge. Despite a close finish, Miami dropped the set 25-23.
- The Norse started strong in the third set, taking a 7-3 lead. Still down 10-6, the RedHawks responded with a 9-3 run to go up 15-13. A Michelin kill kept the RedHawks in the fight at 21-21 as the set neared its end. With Northern Kentucky up 24-22, Grace Kreutz landed a kill, and the Norse committed an attack error to tie it at 24. The Red and White battled until the end, but Northern Kentucky secured the set 26-24.
- Radaszewski set a career-high 11 kills.
