RedHawks Stomp Knights 11-0, Tie Single-Game Scoring Record

OXFORD, Ohio – The RedHawks clobbered Bellarmine Friday in an 11-0 match, tying the program record for most goals scored in a single game set in 1975 against Cedarville. Berta Mata recorded a hat trick, scoring in periods two, three, and four. Miami improves to 4-2 with the win while Bellarmine falls to 0-7 with the loss.

- Sloane Wearren put up the first goal of the game five minutes into the first period, recording her second score of the season to make it 1-0.
- Justina Intzes made it 2-0 five minutes later, scoring unassisted.
- Bet Gifra netted the third goal of the period to round out an early 3-0 start for the RedHawks.
- Intzes scored her second goal of the game two minutes into the second period. Gifra recorded the assist on the score.
- Miami capitalized on a penalty corner two minutes later. Jülia Fernandez found the back of the net with assists from Mata and Becca Lawn on the insert.
- Mata scored her first goal of the game and Miami's third in a four-minute span to inflate the lead to 6-0.
- Malena Sabez scored her fifth goal of the season unassisted to make it 7-0.
- A goal from Paula Navarro off an assist from Wearren capped off an 8-0 first half for the RedHawks.
- The lone goal of the third period came from Mata after just one minute of play and made it a 9-0 contest.
- Navarro struck again just 28 seconds into the fourth period, pushing the lead into double digits off an assist from Wearren.
- Mata completed her hat trick late in the fourth period off another assist by Wearren to finalize an 11-0 shutout.
