O'Malley, Walters Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Katie O'Malley and Silas Walters are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Sept. 1.

Female Winner: Katie O'Malley
Katie O'Malley only played in 120/180 minutes of game time this past week and still had six shots and five points on the week. She scored a goal Thursday in a win over Chicago State, and added a goal and an assist in Sunday's shutout of Tennessee Tech. O'Malley, a junior from Western Springs, Ill., is a Business major in the Farmer School of Business.

Male Winner: Silas Walters
Silas Walters had a team-high eight tackles, an interception and two pass breakups versus Wisconsin last Thursday. The fifth-year senior's first career interception came on a fourth-down stop in the end zone to halt the Badger's drive. Walters also downed a punt at the Wisconsin six-yard line. Walters is a redshirt senior Business Analytics major in the Farmer School of Business from West Chester, Ohio
