
Four RedHawks Earn All-Region Accolades

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has released its 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region teams. Four RedHawks earned spots on the East All-Region list, with Evan Appelwick and Cooper Katskee named to the First Team, while Dillon Baker and Carson Byers were selected for the Second Team.Â

Appelwick started in all 58 of Miami's games and finished the season with career-highs in batting average (.322), fielding percentage (.995), hits (69), home runs (21), RBI (74), runs (65), on-base percentage (.458), slugging percentage (.673), stolen bases (3) and walks (53). His 74 RBI set a new single-season record and his 21 home runs are tied for the most in program history. Appelwick now stands at eighth all-time in career RBI (141) and tied for fourth in career home runs (38) for Miami.

Katskee made 10 starts and 16 total appearances for the RedHawks during the 2025 season. The redshirt sophomore finished the season tied for the fourth-most wins across Division I baseball with an 11-2 record. Katskee pitched in 84.2 innings and recorded a 3.08 ERA. He led the charge against opponents in the batter's box this season, holding them to a .196 batting average and adding 70 strikeouts.

Baker started in each game he played during the 2025 season, totaling 54 starts. The senior set career marks in batting average (.339), hits (77), home runs (13), RBI (49), runs (59), on-base percentage (.442), slugging percentage (.639), stolen bases (6) and walks (24). He was named a Brooks Wallace Award Semifinalist for his efforts during the season.

Byers finished the season with a career-best in both saves (six) and ERA (2.61). He threw in 76.0 innings and made 23 appearances, including two starts. Byers struck out 72 batters to lead the RedHawk pitching staff and held batters to a .215 batting average.

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-America teams will be announced the morning of Friday, June 13 prior to the start of the 2025 NCAA Div. I College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.

In all divisions, the ABCA/Rawlings National Pitchers and Position Players of the Year will be announced on Monday, June 23.
