Three Miami Golfers Earn All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND— The Mid-American Conference announced its men's golf All-MAC teams today, and three RedHawks were recognized. Morgan Blythe received First-Team honors, while Brett Podobinski and Michael Weber were named to the Second Team.

Blythe, a sophomore from Newcastle, England, closed his season with a top-10 finish at the MAC Championships. He also led the RedHawks to a first-place finish at the Kapolei invitational in October, shooting three under par to tie for second place on the leaderboard. Blythe recorded his lowest round of 67 at the first tournament of the season, the Island Resort Intercollegiate.

Podobinski, a native of Dublin, Ohio, was recognized as Second-Team All-MAC for the second consecutive season. His junior year was highlighted by a hole-in-one at the Calusa Cup in April. He finished in the top 10 at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, the Purdue Fall Invitational, the Kapolei Invitational, the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate and the Buckeye Classic. He was recognized as Second-Team All-MAC for the second consecutive season.

Weber, a junior from Burlington, Ontario, claimed victory at the Purdue Fall Invitational, including recording a season-low round of 66. He also tied for first in the individual 'Put Me In Coach' Invite last September in Muncie, Ind.
