Baker Recognized as MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

The Mid-American Conference named Miami's Dillon Baker its male Scholar Athlete of the Week today. Baker went 12-for-19 at the plate last week (.632), which included a perfect 5-for-5 performance on Saturday in an 18-2 win over Ohio. Baker racked up two homers, five doubles, six RBIs, and nine runs throughout the week, striking out just twice over four games. He recorded hits in seven consecutive at-bats during Saturday's doubleheader at OU. Baker's offensive dominance led Miami to defeat Bellarmine on Tuesday and take two of three from the Bobcats, marking Miami's eighth straight MAC series victory. Baker, a redshirt senior from Tampa, Fla., is a Sport Management major in the College of Education, Health and Society.

Miami Baseball is back in action Wednesday at 3 p.m. for a non-conference matchup at Xavier.
