
Miami Golf Makes an Impressive Showing at Buckeye Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio— Miami claimed sole possession of third place in an impressive showing at the first-ever Buckeye Classic, ahead of Kent State by six strokes. The RedHawks ended with a score of 15 below par, or 849. Ohio State (-18) finished first, with Michigan (-17) taking second.
Morgan Blythe (71-67-71=209) finished third on the individual leaderboard with a score of seven under par, only two strokes shy of second place.

- Blythe was able to maintain his hold of third place throughout the tournament with 12 total birdies.
- Michael Weber (72-67-71=210) moved up to fourth place, only behind Blythe by one stroke for a score of six below par. He shot a birdie on the second hole of the third round, going on to shoot three more in the round.
- Brett Podobinski (71-75-68=214) finished two below par, tying for 10th place. He shot five birdies in his final round.
- Cameron Pero (72-71-74=217) tied for 19th, shooting one above par. He ended the tournament with a birdie on the 18th hole.
- Matthew Mattioli (75-73-74=222) competed as an individual, ending with a score of six above par and tying for 42nd.
- Sam Mortell (76-74-77=227) tied for 57th with a score of 11 above par.
