OXFORD, Ohio – A career-high 26 points from Maya Chandler helped the Miami University women's basketball team to an 89-79 victory over Northern Illinois on Senior Day in Millett Hall. Enjulina Gonzalez (22) and Amber Tretter (19) joined Chandler in double figures as the RedHawks improved to 19-10, 11-7 MAC. Sidney McCrea led the Huskies (13-17, 6-12 MAC) with 21 points.

How it Happened:
- Northern Illinois connected on their first four shots, including three from behind the arc, to take an early 11-5 lead. Chandler's jumper, a layup from Gonzalez and a triple from Tretter spotted the Red and White a 12-11 advantage with 6:30 left in the first quarter. The Huskies closed the quarter on a 13-6 run to claim a 24-18 lead after 10 minutes of the play. The Huskies made 5-of-7 three pointers in the first quarter.
- Tretter drilled back-to-back three pointers to open the second to knot the game at 24 apiece. With game still tied, 30-30, Chandler knocked in a deep triple and Gonzalez split a pair of defenders for a 35-30 Miami lead. NIU answered with five points in 20 seconds before a Gonzalez put-back and a fast-break triple from Chandler made it 40-35 with two minutes remaining. Miami led 42-38 at the half.
- Tretter's third triple of the game made it 47-40 early in the third and after NIU converted a layup, Chandler scored the game's next five points for a 52-42 RedHawks' lead. The Huskies cut the deficit to seven, 62-55, but Tamar Singer's three pointer made it 65-55 at the end of the third quarter.
- NIU's three-point play made it 68-61 with 8:30 to play, but Tretter answered with a three-point play of her own to regain the double-digit advantage. The Huskies closed the gap to 75-68, but a three-point play from Gonzalez put the RedHawks up 78-68 midway through the final stanza. Miami's defense did the rest, holding the Huskies to three field goals the final 5:34 of the contest.

- Maya Chandler, who competed in her 146th career-game, scored a career-high 26 points. She made a career-high 11 field goals.
- Enjulina Gonzalez has now scored in double-digits in 24-straight games. She added a career-high six steals.
- Miami forced 26 turnovers and is now 13-4 when forcing at least 20 turnovers in a game.
