BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Miami University women's swimming and diving team finished in third place among eight teams, scoring 623 points at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Other placements were the University of Akron in first with 726.5 points, Ohio University in second with 637.5 points, University of Buffalo in fourth with 567.5 points, Ball State University in fifth with 305.5 points, Bowling Green State University in sixth with 305 points, Eastern Michigan University in seventh with 215 points and University of Toledo in eighth with 175.5 points.
All-MAC First Team honors were given to
Chrisna Bezuidenhout,
Kaylin Herbet,
Madeline Padavic and
Casey Stephens. All-MAC Second Team was awarded to
Ella Ziegert.
How it Happened:
- The meet kicked off with the 1650 freestyle, where Stephens took home first place, turning in a time of 16:45.72.
- The 200-yard backstroke was next, where Bezuidenhout finished first, breaking the program record with a time of 1:54.59.
- Padavic finished third in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 49.28.
- The 200-yard breaststroke was next, where Emma Schueler finished eighth with a time of 2:17.73.
- Erin Szczupakiewicz finished third in the 200-yard butterfly, recording a time of 2:00.38.
- Swimming events concluded with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Miami finished third. Padavic, Herbet, Ziegert and Julia Waechter earned a combined time of 3:18.87.
- For diving events, Sydney Rice finished fifth in the three-meter dive, putting up a score of 260.70.
