BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Miami University women's swimming and diving team traveled to Buffalo for the Mid American Conference (MAC) championships Thursday, Feb. 27. After day two, the women's team is in fourth-place among eight teams, scoring points 203. Other placements were the University of Akron in first with 264 points, University of Buffalo in second with 228 points, Ohio University in third with 215.5  points, Ball State University in fifth with 117.5 points, Bowling Green State University in sixth with 96 points, Eastern Michigan University in seventh with 92 points and University of Toledo in eighth with 75 points.
 
How it Happened: 

• The meet kicked off with the 500-yard freestyle where Casey Stephens placed fifth, posting a time of 4:53.78.
• Up next was the 200 IM where Kaylin Herbet finished third, recording a time of 1:59.16.
• The 50-yard freestyle was next where Madeline Padavic finished fourth, earning a time of 22.50.
• The 400 medley relay closed out swimming events for the night where Padavic, Herbet, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Julia Waechter turned in a combined time of 3:36.40, finishing third..
• For diving events, Sydney Rice placed fifth, putting up a score of 244.80.

 
UP NEXT: The RedHawks women's swimming and diving team will return to Buffalo for day three of the MAC Championships, Friday Feb. 28. The preliminaries start at 10 a.m. and the finals begin at 6 p.m.
