OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University swimming and diving team hosted the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025 at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. After day two, the men's team is in first-place among seven teams, scoring 304 points. Other placements were Southern Illinois University in second place with 272 points, Missouri State University in third with 217 points, University of Illinois Chicago in fourth place with 180 points, Ball State University in fifth place with 135 points, Valparaiso University in sixth place with 74 points and University of Evansville in seventh place with 56 points.
How it Happened:
- The meet kicked off with the 500-yard freestyle where Bryce Menchhofer finished second posting a time of 4:27.07. Tommy Frye finished third, recording a time of 4:27.14.
- Up next was the 200 IM where Henju Duvenhage came in first-place with a time of 1:43.79, setting a new MVC championship record. Allen Cotton finished second earning a time of 1:44.44.
- Tegan Barrier finished third in the 50-yard freestyle, turning in a time of 19.92.
- After that was the 1M dive, where Jackson Miller placed third, tallying a score of 295.95.
- The 400-yard medley relay followed where Duvenhage, Jensen Nelson, Adrian Dulay and Barrier put up a combined time of 3:10.65, which was good for second place.
UP NEXT: The RedHawks men's swimming and diving team will return to Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center for day three of the MVC Championship, Friday Feb. 21. The preliminaries start at 10:30 a.m. and the finals begin at 6 p.m.
