DALLAS, Texas – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named Miami pitcher Carson Byers to the 2025 watch list for the 20th annual Stopper of the Year Award. The award is presented yearly to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball.
The midseason watch list will come out on April 23 and finalists for the honor will be announced on June 4. Byers is one of 76 student-athletes to make the preseason watch list, which encompasses 19 conferences. He is one of six pitchers represented from the Mid-American Conference.
Last season, Byers was on the mound in relief 23 times for Miami, earning a 6-1 record and two saves. During his 59 innings of work, he struck out 73 batters and gave up just 26 earned runs.
