Miami Wins the Midwestern Sectional Championship

KALAMAZOO, Mich.— Miami captured its first win of the season with a collegiate team-high score of 111.23. A very strong skate on Saturday afternoon saw Miami claim its 15th all-time Midwestern Championship.

- The RedHawks, skating eighth in the competition, posted a score of 111.23 and had a clean skate with no deductions.
- The team's technical element score came in at 56.07 and the program component score came in at 55.16, which were both the highest out of the whole competition.
- The Red and White competed in a solid eight-team field, where two other teams posted scores over 100 points.
- Miami's score of 111.23 was over seven points higher than the University of Michigan (103.81), which was the closest competitor to the RedHawks.
- The other scores included: Northernettes (103.06), Trine University (96.72), Michigan State University (89.11), Western Michigan University (84.21), University of Illinois (81.17) and Adrian College (75.41).
