
Men's Swim and Dive Finishes Third at Day One of MVC Championships

OXFORD, Ohio. — The Miami University swimming and diving team hosted the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025 at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. After day one, the men's team is in third-place among seven teams, scoring 68 points. Other placements were Missouri State University and Southern Illinois University tied for first place with 72 points, Ball State University in fourth place with 60 points, University of Illinois Chicago in fifth place with 56 points, Valparaiso University in sixth place with 50 points and University of Evansville in seventh place with 26 points.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks men's swimming and diving team will return to Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center for day two of the MVC Championship, Thursday Feb. 19. The preliminaries start at 10:30 a.m. and the finals begin at 5 p.m.
How it Happened:
- The meet kicked off with the Men's 200 medley where the A team took home second and set a program record. Henju Duvenhage, Adrian Dulay, Scott Spear and Tegan Barrier earned a time of 1:24.98.
- The 800-yard freestyle relay was next, where the A team took home second and set another program record. Bryce Menchhofer, Allen Cotton, Ian Kmiliauskis and Owen Hoban posted a time of 6:26.38. Menchhofer set a program record with a time of 1:36.63 as the lead-off swimmer for the 200-yard freestyle.
