Scalia, Grimes Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Amber Scalia and Doug Grimes are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Dec. 15.
Female Winner: Amber Scalia
Amber Scalia had a team-high 18 points for the RedHawks in a road contest at Colorado. She added three assists, was 2-of-5 from long range and connected on a season-high six free throws. A senior guard from Stillwater, Minn., she is studying Kinesiology in the College of Education, Health and Society and Liberal Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.
Male Winner: Doug Grimes
Doug Grimes produced the first multi-goal game of his career Saturday, putting up two goals to help Miami Hockey to a 3-3 tie against No. 19 Colorado College. Grimes eclipsed his previous career high of four shots on goal in the first period alone, finishing with a total of seven shots on goal in the game. He was named the Second Star. A junior forward from Brookline, Mass., he is studying Economics in the College of Arts and Science.
