
Tretter, Drobac Named Miami Athletes of the Week

For their performances last week, Amber Tretter and Matteo Drobac are Miami's Athletes of the Week, presented by Skyline Chili for the week of Dec. 1.
Female Winner: Amber Tretter
Amber Tretter averaged 11.5 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a pair of contests at the Paradise Jam. She had 13 points, 15 rebounds and four assists versus Washington State and followed that up with her second straight double-double, securing 10 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Marist. Overall, Tretter shot 64.3% from the field over the weekend and connected on 3-of-5 from behind the arc. A junior foward from Ferdinand, Ind., she is studying Architecture in the College of Creative Arts.
Male Winner: Matteo Drobac (Oakville, Ontario)
Matteo Drobac was dominant all weekend at the Friendship Four in Belfast, posting his second career shutout Friday and adding 29 saves Saturday (including four in the final 50 seconds while the Union net was empty) to help the RedHawks capture the Belpot Trophy. Drobac posted a .963 save percentage with a 1.00 GAA and was part of a Miami penalty kill that was perfect all weekend (5-for-5). Drobac was named Miami's Player of the Game Friday and also won Player of the Tournament honors when the event wrapped up Saturday. A sophomore goaltender from Oakville, Ontario, he is studying Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computing.
