Swim and Dive Defeats Northern Kentucky University

OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University swimming and diving team hosted Northern Kentucky University on Friday Nov. 7, 2025. The RedHawk women defeated the Norse, scoring 130 to Northern Kentucky's 57. The men bested Northern Kentucky as well, with a score of 109 to the Norse 84.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks hit the road at Akron on Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. The women will take on Akron and Pittsburgh, while the men will only face off against Pittsburgh.
How it Happened:
- The RedHawks kicked off their home opener with the women's 200-yard medley where the women's A,B and C team took home first, second and third respectively. Ella Ziegert, Natalie Gilson, Kaylin Herbet and Julia Waechter turned in a combined time of 1:44.24. Chrisna Bezuidenhout, Ashley Sego, Jenna Halliday and Audrey Conley turned in a combined time of 1:47.17. Madison Camden, Avery Catalano, Madison Saldanha and Sarah Pophal earned a combined time of 1:50.23.
- The men's 200-yard medley followed where the A team finished first as well. Jensen Nelson, Ben Eichberg, Duncan Salmen and Ian Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis had a combined time of 3:17.49. The men's A team finished third. Jett Dooley, Drew Watson, Brady Miller and Kevin Donaldson posted a combined time of 1:35.81.
- Gracie Gregory finished first in the women's 1000-yard freestyle, earning a time of 10:18.64.
- The men's 1000-yard freestyle was next, where Luke Pugh finished first, turning in a time of 9:42.89.
- After that came the women's 200-yard freestyle, where Waechter finished first, recording a time of 1:53.65. Pophal finished second with Conley right behind her in third, posting times of 1:55.73 and 1:56.42 respectively.
- Hendrik Bechtel finished first in the men's 200-yard freestyle, earning a time of 1:42.38. Owen Fowler was third with a time of 1:45.45.
- After that was the women's 50-yard freestyle where Ziegert finished first, turning in a time of 24.13. Catalano was next in second place posting a time of 24.84.
- The men's 50-yard freestyle followed, where Owen Hoban finished first, clocking a time of 20.91. Ian Wihebrink was third with a time of 21.67.
- Herbet finished first in the women's 200-yard IM, posting a time of 2:06.06. Lauren Gualtieri was second earning a time of 2:12.91.
- Up next was the men's 200-yard IM where Elijah Rolfsen finished first with a time of 1:54.44. In second and third were Nathan Lindstrom and Tegan Barrier, posting times of 1:54.64 and 1:57.95 respectively.
- Next was the women's 100-yard butterfly where Piper Prince finished first, earning a time of 57.70. Madison Watschke finished second with a time of 58.50.
- Bryce Menchhofer finished first in the men's 100-yard butterfly, turning in a time of 50.87. Rodrigues-Kmiliauskis finished second clocking a time of 50.99.
- After that was the women's 100-yard freestyle where Gilson finished first, posting a time of 52.40. Sadanha was second with a time of 54.45.
- Up next was the men's 100-yard freestyle where Salmen finished first, recording a time of 46.09.
- Halliday finished first in the women's 100-yard backstroke earning a time of 57.44. Camden was second and Mady Bachmeier finished third with times of 57.64 and 58.67 respectively.
- Michal Piela finished first in the men's 100-yard backstroke, turning in a time of 51.51.
- Sego was first in the women's 500-yard freestyle, recording a time of 5:14.19. Gualtieri was second with Kenadie Glasgow right behind her in third with times of 5:17.75 and 5:21.21 respectively.
- The men's 500-yard freestyle followed where Rolfsen finished first, posting a time of 4:42.84.
- The women's 100-yard breaststroke followed where Rebekah Gurley earned a time of 1:07.67.
- Next was the men's 100-yard breaststroke where Owen Hoban turned in a time of 57.47.
- The women's 200-yard freestyle relay was after that. Saldanha, Prince, Camden and Watschke turned in a combined time of 1:38.51.
- Swimming events concluded with the men's 200-yard freestyle relay. Pablo Silva, Menchhofer, Lindstrom and Donaldson posted a combined time of 1:26.49.
