
Four Former RedHawks Ready to Get 2025-26 NHL Season Underway

NEW YORK— The National Hockey League announced club rosters for opening night of the 2025-26 season, which begins today with a tripleheader. Four former Miami University student-athletes are included on active rosters: Blake Coleman, Sean Kuraly, Kiefer Sherwood and Reilly Smith.
Coleman, entering his fifth season with the Calgary Flames, played all 82 games a year ago and collected 39 points (15-24-39). The two-time Stanley Cup champion forward also matched his career high in assists last season.
Kuraly re-joined the Boston Bruins during the offseason after spending the previous four years in Columbus. Kuraly posted 17 points (6-11-17) in 82 appearances for the Blue Jackets last season.
Sherwood begins his second season with Vancouver after producing season highs in both goals (19) and assists (21) for the Canucks in 78 games last season.
Smith, who returned to the Golden Knights via trade in March, had 40 points last season between the Rangers and Vegas (13-27-40). Smith is a 2023 Stanley Cup champion with the Golden Knights.
