Sophia Penegor Named MAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND--Â The Mid-American Conference announced its soccer players of the week today for the final week of the regular season, and Miami redshirt sophomore Sophia Penegor was named MAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Penegor played in all 90 minutes of the RedHawks' shutout victory against Kent State Wednesday, adding to Miami's league-leading total of 10 shutouts. The Miami defense didn't allow a shot in the second half and only yielded three in total to a team that averages over 11 shots per game. The Dublin, Ohio native played every minute during the regular season and recorded the highest scoring total of her career with two goals and four points.
Miami Soccer begins MAC tournament play in the semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
