Nelson Named MAC Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND--Â Miami sophomore Liam Nelson was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week, the conference announced today. Nelson claimed his first career victory at this week's Flyer Invitational, carding a 206 over three rounds (66-70-70) to top an 82-player field and finish as one of only five players under par. The Chicago native made six birdies in a row in his opening round and finished with 15 for the week (second-highest total in the field), rallying from a three-stroke deficit on the final day to win medalist honors. His performance was the best by any RedHawk golfer so far this season according to Clipp'd Scoreboard rankings.
