RedHawks Stand Out in Midwestern Meets

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. and HILLSDALE, Mich-- The RedHawk indoor teams traveled to the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Hillsdale College this weekend to compete in the Crossroads of America Invite and the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic. Ella Rigel led the way for the RedHawks this weekend as she finished in first place in the weight throw event.

The RedHawks will return to Indianapolis once again next weekend to compete in the Midwest Classic (January 31-February 1).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Abby Suszek finished in fourth place in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 54.47 seconds. She beat her previous PR that she set last week in the Hoosier Horsepower Invitational by .15 seconds and is second in RedHawk history for the 400-meter dash. In the women's 200-meter dash, Suszek finished in sixth place with a time of 24.08 seconds. This time marks a PR for Suszek, as she beat her previous time by .13 seconds. She now moves into second place all time in RedHawk history for the 200-meter dash also. Ella Scally finished in ninth place in the first round of the women's 60-meter dash and qualified for the finals with a time of 7.63 seconds. This time marks a PR for Scally as she beat her time from last weekend by .04 seconds. She stands alone at sixth place all time in RedHawk history with this time. In the 60-meter dash finals, Scally finished in seventh place with a time of 7.79 seconds. The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Lucca Agate, Suszek, Avery Emerson, and Eve Traficanti finished in ninth place with a time of 3:52.33.
- On the field for the women, Rigel finished in first place in the women's weight throw with 17.70 meters. Santornya Ralliford finished in fourth place in the women's shot put event with 13.46 meters. Kennedy Cunningham also competed in the women's shot put event and she finished in eighth place with 12.14 meters. Scally finished in seventh place in the women's long jump with 5.97 meters.
- In the 3000-meter event, Annie Christie finished in fourth place with a time of 9:35.48.
- In the men's 60-meter dash, Matthew Shuler finished in sixth place with a time of 6.87 seconds and qualified for the finals on Saturday. Shuler finished in seventh place in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 6.90 seconds. Joey Valeski finished in seventh place in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.62 seconds. The men's 4x400 meter team of Leo Bouldin, Micah Schuster, Dominic Jackson, and Valeski finished in fifth place with a time of 3:15.94.
- On the field for the men, Nate Hollingsworth finished in third place in the men's high jump event with 2.08 meters. Logan Vowles (2.04) and Mac Burley (1.95) also competed in the men's high jump event as they finished in sixth and 10th place, respectively. In the men's triple jump event, Andrew Farrow finished in ninth place with 14.40 meters. In the men's shot put event, Ben Riegel was the highest placing RedHawk as he finished in sixth place with 15.69 meters. Blake Presley (15.19 meters) and Adam Smith (14.50 meters) were right behind him as they finished in eighth and ninth place in the shot put event, respectively. In the men's weight throw, Gabe Asbury (16.32 meters) and Owen Billeter (16.11 meters) finished in sixth and eighth place, respectively.
