Colby Ambrosio is among the nominees for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the most outstanding player in college hockey. Ambrosio, a graduate student from Welland, Ontario, is one of more than 90 student-athletes (representing 64 different NCAA Division I schools) up for the award. Fan voting is underway now at hobeybaker.com/vote and will run until Sunday, March 9 at midnight. Phase two of fan balloting will come from the list of Top Ten Hobey Baker finalists beginning March 19 and closing March 30. The fans' vote accounts for a percentage of the total ballot in each phase in selecting the award recipient.
Ambrosio has 13 points this season for the RedHawks, including four goals, with a total of 46 shots on goal. He has two multi-point games, including a pair of assists in his Miami debut and a three-point outing in an Oct. 12 win over Alaska Anchorage.
The 2025 Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced from a field of three Hobey Hat Trick finalists on Friday, April 11, 2025 during the NCAA Frozen Four Championship in St. Louis, Mo. The award ceremony will be broadcast nationally on NHL Network and streamed live at
