RedHawks Shutout Ball State 3-0

MUNCIE, IND. – The Miami University field hockey team shutout the Ball State University Cardinals 3-0 on Friday evening. This pushes the RedHawks' record to 5-4 on the season (2-1 Mid-American Conference). Ball State drops to 1-6 (0-2 MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
UP NEXT: The RedHawks return to the field Sunday, Sept. 27 to face the University of Michigan at 1 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- With two minutes remaining in the first quarter, Claudia Negrete Garcia scored during a penalty corner off assists from Carlie Servis and Berta Mata to put the RedHawks ahead 1-0.
- The RedHawks held their 1-0 lead through the end of the quarter.
- Three minutes into the second quarter, Negrete Garcia scored again, this time unassisted, to double the lead 2-0.
- The Red and White held this 2-0 lead through the end of the half and through the third quarter.
- With ten minutes remaining in the game, Reese Wearren scored to make it a 3-0 Miami lead.
- The RedHawks took the game in a shutout 3-0.
UP NEXT: The RedHawks return to the field Sunday, Sept. 27 to face the University of Michigan at 1 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Mich.
