WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.— The Miami University golf team placed second out of 15 teams to conclude the Purdue Fall Invitational, with junior
Michael Weber (-8) earning medalist honors. The RedHawks produced a score of 854 (10 under par) to record their best team finish at this tournament since its inception in 2021. In a field featuring four Big Ten teams, Miami came in four strokes behind first-place Indiana and 16 strokes ahead of third-place Iowa. Three RedHawks finished in the top 10, paced by Weber's three-round total of 208.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Weber (72-66-70–208) led the competition, finishing his third round with a total of four birdies.
- Cameron Pero (71-73-70–214) tied for seventh overall at two under par, putting up three birdies in the final round.
- Brett Podobinski (68-75-72–215) shot four birdies in his final round, tying for tenth place at one under par.
- Morgan Blythe (72-70-75–217) shot seven pars and a birdie on the back nine of his final round, tying him for 18th overall.
- Liam Nelson (80-78-76–234) shot a birdie on the third hole of his final round, improving his score in each of the event's three rounds.
- Matthew Mattioli (+4) and Sam West (+9) competed at Purdue as individuals.
