KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Miami soccer team lost 6-0 at WMU Soccer Complex against Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon. The RedHawks move to 4-2-3 (0-1-1 in MAC) and Western Michigan is now 4-1-4 (4-0-1 in MAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maya Dean opened the scoring for the Broncos in the fourth minute after Abby Balbridge crossed the ball into her on the edge of the six-yard box.
- Madi Canada doubled the home team's lead after taking a shot from distance that sailed into the top corner in the 27th minute.
- Jen Blitchok scored a header off of a corner put in by Canada in the 32nd minute to make it 3-0.
- Abby Werthman had the ball fall to her in front of goal in the 56th minute after Blitchok laid it back to her for Western's fourth.
- Blitchok scored her second in the 61st minute on a cross from Balbridge to make it 5-0.
- A minute later, Blitchok got her hat-trick after tapping in a low cross from Drew Martin making it 6-0.
NOTES
- Makenna Morrison led Miami with four shots.
- Dominique Popa had eight saves, which matches her career-high.
- The RedHawks saw their five-match unbeaten streak snapped.
