RedHawks Fall in Overtime to No. 15 Princeton 1-0

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Miami University field hockey team made it a hard-fought match, but ultimately fell to No. 15 Princeton University 1-0 in overtime on Friday evening. The RedHawks move to 3-2 on the season, and the Tigers improve to 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter ended without a change in the 0-0 score. Goalkeeper Nicky Sjouken made four saves in net to keep the RedHawks even with the Tigers.
- The second quarter ended much like the first with a 0-0 score, thanks to Miami successfully defending four penalty corners through the end of the first half.
- The RedHawks secured their first penalty corner and notched four shots in the third quarter, but at its conclusion the game still remained 0-0.
- Through the fourth quarter, neither team was able to score, sending the game into overtime.
- Just over a minute into overtime, the Tigers were able to score on a penalty stroke to take the game 1-0.
