OXFORD, Ohio – Highlighted by six contests versus Power-5 programs and six home contests, the Miami field hockey team announced its 2024 schedule.
Miami opens the season on Friday, Aug. 30 with a home contest versus Bucknell and two days later on Sept. 1, welcomes Saint Francis to southwest Ohio. That opening weekend are Miami's lone non-conference home opponents for the season.
"We are very excited to represent Miami as we go through this 2024 schedule," said senior Carlie Servis. "It is a great mix of a strong MAC conference slate with a number of traditional national-level programs. We get to continue old rivalries as well as face new teams as we work to play better hockey every day. From the opening whistle into November, we will be challenged and we look forward to growing throughout the season."
The RedHawks travel to face Iowa (Sept. 6), Indiana (Sept. 11), Princeton (Sept. 13), Rutgers (Sept. 15), Michigan (Sept. 29), Michigan State (Oct. 1) and Virginia (Oct. 20) to complete the non-conference slate. Both Rutgers and Virginia played in last season's NCAA Tournament.
Miami welcomes James Madison (first contest as a member of the MAC) to town on Friday, Sept. 20 to open conference play. Miami also hosts Ohio (Oct. 6), Appalachian State (Oct. 11) and Kent State (Nov. 1) in MAC play.
In conference road action, Miami will compete at Bellarmine (Sept. 22), Ball State (Sept. 27), Longwood (Oct. 18) and Central Michigan (Oct. 25).
The RedHawks host this year's MAC Tournament on Nov. 7-9.
