OXFORD, Ohio—First-year Miami University synchronized skating head coach Katey Nyquist announced the program's 2024-25 domestic competitive schedule and exhibition dates today. After last year's 22nd collegiate national championship and bronze medal finish for the senior team at the national championships, the RedHawks will host their annual season kickoff exhibition — which is the program's Family & Alumni Weekend--at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. The event is free and open to the public!
Both teams get things underway the previous night with performances at each intermission of the Miami Hockey game (Friday, Nov. 1). November includes the first competitions for the senior team (Fall Classic in Irvine, Calif. on Nov. 8-9) and the collegiate team (Nov. 22-24 at the Kalamazoo Kickoff Classic in Kalamazoo, Mich.).
In December, both RedHawk teams travel to the Dr. Porter Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich. (Dec. 6-8) to round out the 2024 calendar year.
In 2025, Miami's collegiate team will compete at the Midwestern Sectional Championships (Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Kalamazoo, Mich.) and the Tri-State Competition (date and location to be announced later).
The senior team's international assignments for 2024-25 also will be announced at a later date.
The RedHawks will host their annual Nationals Send-Off Exhibition on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena before the senior and collegiate teams head to the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships Feb. 28-Mar. 2. This year's championships will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Additionally, both teams will skate again at a Miami Hockey intermission after the first of the year, with performance dates set for Friday, Jan. 17 and Friday, Feb. 21. Which team will be skating on the respective dates will be announced later.
Miami Skating also will host its Fall Recruitment Day on Friday, Oct. 18.
