COLUMBUS, Ohio/WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Miami University outdoor track and field team traveled to Ohio State University and Wake Forest University to compete in the Jesse Owens Classic and the Wake Forest Invitational this weekend.

On Saturday, April 27, the Miami track and field team will host the RedHawk Invite in Oxford.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Ohio State):
- On the field for the women, Ella Rigel finished in second place in the women's hammer throw event with 60.01 meters. In the women's long jump event, Ella Scally finished in second place with 6.03 meters. Ella Garvin (1.65 meters) and Abbi Deisch (1.60 meters) finished in fifth and sixth place of the women's high jump event, respectively. Elle Miller also competed in the high jump event, coming in 10th with 1.55 meters.
- For the women, Kayla Walters finished in eighth place in the 100-meter hurdle prelims (14.25 seconds) and final (14.57). Erin Connors finished in ninth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.43. In the women's 400-meter event, Abby Suszek finished in fifth place with a time of 55.90 seconds. Lucca Agate also ran in the 400-meter event, and she came in 10th with a time of 56.79 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of Camryn Dunn, Suszek, Connors, and Agate finished in fourth place with a time of 3:53.90. Julia Rushing (10:40.96) and Jenna Sayle (10:54.17) finished in second and fourth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase, respectively.
- For the men, Chris Perkins finished in seventh place in the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 3:53.86. Nate Price finished in eighth place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:37.74. In the men's 800-meter run, Jack Fleming finished 10th with a time of 1:54.73.
- For the men, Julian Wagner finished in sixth place in the 100-meter prelims with a time of 10.55 seconds. Jayson Harrison also ran in the 100-meter prelims, and he finished 10th with a time of 10.78 seconds. In the final, Wagner finished in sixth place with a time of 10.79 seconds. Eman Alfred finished 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.82 seconds. In the men's 4x100-meter relay, the team of Wagner, Joey Valeski, Leo Bouldin, and Alfred finished in fourth place with a time of 41.38 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of Bouldin, Alfred, Micah Schuster, and Angelo Vassilakis finished in third place with a time of 3:20.30.
- For the women, Julia Rushing (10:40.96) and Jenna Sayle (10:54.17) finished in second and fourth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase, respectively.
- For the men, Johnny Sayle finished in fifth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:09.38. Chris Perkins finished in seventh place in the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 3:53.86. In the 5000-meter run, Patrick Wills finished in sixth place with a time of 14:22.27.
On Saturday, April 27, the Miami track and field team will host the RedHawk Invite in Oxford.
