RedHawks Tie for Third in Two-Round Sweetens Cove Tourney

SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn. — The host RedHawks were narrowly defeated by High Point University in round two of the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate, winning two out of their six matches and tying one. The final round of the tournament was canceled due to a lack of daylight, so Miami tied for third place out of eight teams.

RedHawk individuals will compete at the Jewell Invitational hosted by Northern Kentucky in Batavia, Ohio on April 6-7. Miami will next compete as a team at the Calusa Cup in Naples, Fla on April 7-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Michael Weber won his match with a birdie on hole 18. He made four consecutive birdies on holes 11-14 to erase a four-hole deficit before taking the victory.
- Matthew Mattioli won his match against High Point after hole 15 as he was up four with three holes remaining.
- Danny Fisher and his opponent tied during round two with each winning six holes.
- Brett Podobinski's match went to the final hole before he lost by one.
- Egor Zotov played through hole 17 but lost his match by two
- Morgan Blythe lost his match by three, concluding play after hole 16.
