ATHENS, Ohio – The Miami University women's swimming and diving MAC Championships concluded today, with the RedHawks finishing second overall with 652.5 points
, behind the 2024 champions, the University of Akron (812.5). At the conclusion of the championships, speciality awards & All-MAC Teams were announced.
Nicole Maier was awarded most outstanding senior for her accomplishments this season.
How It Happened:
- The final day kicked off with the 1650 freestyle, where Audrey Conley finished sixth overall (16:55.98) and Casey Stephens in seventh place (17:01.96).
- After that, Angelina Cakuls placed fourth in the 200 backstroke at 1:57.09.
- Nicole Maier then claimed first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.77 qualifying for a NCAA B cut. Honor Brodie-Foy was just behind her finishing fourth with a time of 49.38.
- Sara Lahrach-Sanchez finished eighth for the RedHawks in the 200 breaststroke with a final time of 2:17.24.
- Following that, in the 200 butterfly, Erin Szczupakiewicz finished fifth overall with a time of 2:00.22.
- The championships concluded with Miami's A team finishing second overall in the 400 freestyle relay, with Brodie-Foy, Greta Kolbeck, Kaylin Herbet and Maier coming in at 3:16.92.
