LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Miami University's senior synchronized skating team notched a 67.90 for their short program and sit in third place after the first night of the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships.

Both RedHawk teams return to the ice tomorrow at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. The collegiate team's competition is 9:50 p.m. (ET) Saturday with the RedHawks skating second, while the senior team returns to the ice following the collegiate event for the free skate competition at approximately 12:20 a.m. (ET) Sunday morning. Both events will be streamed live on Peacock.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Miami skated second among the four-team field, recording an executed element score of 36.04 and a program component score of 32.82, and had one fall for their opening performance at the national championships.
- The Haydenettes are in first place with a score of 80.19. Miami trails second-place Skyliners (70.76) by 2.86 points.
- The RedHawks lead fourth-place Adrian (56.50) by 11.40 points.
