OXFORD, Ohio — Day two of the Miami University Invitational at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center was much the same for the Miami University swimming and diving team as they continued to perform well. After day two the women are in first place scoring 819 points. The men are in first place scoring 852.5 points. Other placements for the women's teams were Indiana State University (659.5) in second and Dartmouth College (511) in third. Other placements for the men's teams were Dartmouth College (759) in second and Ball State University (577.5) in third.
How it Happened:
- Finals for day two started with the women's 200-yard medley relay where the women's A team took home first place. Madeline Padavic, Emma Schueler, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Kaylin Herbet turned in a combined time of 1:39.69. The women's B team came in fourth. Ella Ziegert, Natalie Gilson, McKenzie Reid and Julia Waechter put up a combined time of 1:42.03.
- The men's 200-yard medley relay was up next where the men's A team finished first. Henju Duvenhage, Adrian Dulay, Scott Spear and Tegan Barrier turned in a combined time of 1:26.32. The men's B team finished in third as well. Drew Watson, Benjamin Eichberg, Jack Herczeg and Ian Kmiliauskis posted a combined time of 1:29.64.
- After that came the women's 100-yard butterfly where Szczupakiewicz finished third, earning a season best time of 54.52.
- Duvenhage placed first in the men's 100-yard butterfly clocking a season best time of 46.75. Spear came in fourth recording a season best time of 48.38.
- Next was the women's 400-yard IM where Ashley Sego came in fourth place earning a personal best time of 4:26.59.
- The men's 400-yard IM was next where Owen Hoban finished second with a personal best time of 3:57.32. Nick Barrows was in fourth place putting up a season best time of 4:00.88.
- Herbet finished third in the women's 200-yard freestyle with a season best time of 1:48.84.
- Bryce Menchhofer came in third place in the men's 200-yard freestyle posting a time of 1:38.07. Maguire Sheppard finished fifth earning himself a personal best time of 1:38.88.
- Gilson earned herself a first place finish in the women's 100-yard breaststroke, recording a personal best 1:01.99. Schueler was third with a season best time of 1:03.00.
- The men's 100-yard breaststroke was next where Eichberg finished first tying his personal best time of 54.77. Dulay was right behind him in second place turning in a season best time of 54.84. Ian Wihebrink was fourth earning a time of 55.37.
- Padavic finished first in the women's 100-yard backstroke breaking the school record she set in the preliminaries with a time of 52.25 Ziegert was second with a time of 54.27, and Angelina Cakuls was fourth posting a time of 54.27.
- Duvenhage came in first-place in the men's 100-yard backstroke clocking a season best time of 47.12. Drew Watson was fifth with a personal best time of 49.28.
- The women's 800-yard freestyle relay was next where the women's A team came in second. Szczupakiewicz, Taylor Connors, Waechter and Herbet turned in a combined time of 7:29.01.
- Day two's swimming events concluded with the men's 800-yard freestyle relay where the men's A team finished second. Herczeg, Menchhofer, Kmiliauskis and Sheppard posted a combined time of 6:40.51.
- For diving events, Sydney Rice placed first in the women's one meter diving with a score of 263.20. Vivian Niekamp came in fourth place with a score of 241.25
- Jackson Miller earned a third place finish in the men's one meter diving with a score of 273.40
- Rice placed first in the women's three meter dive posting a score of 283.95. Nora Kowalski came in second place earning a score of 263.80.
- Miller took home first place in the men's three meter dive turning in a score of 306.90. David Burke placed fifth with a score of 245.40
