RedHawks Skate in Boston; Collegiate Team Takes Second Place

BOSTON, Mass. — In their first competition of the season, the Miami Collegiate Synchronized Skating team finished in second place at this weekend's Boston Classic. Miami's Senior team took fifth place in a seven-team field.

- On Saturday night, the RedHawks posted a final score of 95.03, which put them in second place out of eight collegiate teams in the competition.
- The team's technical score came in at 45.51 and the component score was 51.52.
- Miami finished 12 points ahead of the third-place team, the University of Delaware, and more than 20 points ahead of the rest of the competition.
- On Saturday afternoon, the Miami Senior team was in fifth place on the seven-team field after their short program skate.
- The RedHawks skated a short program score of 56.63, a technical score of 31.10, and a program component score of 28.53.
- The Red and White skated again on Sunday afternoon for their free skate and posted a score of 113.89, with an elemental score of 58.75 and a program component score of 57.14.
- The Haydenettes won the Boston Classic with a final score of 194.22. Miami finished with a total score of 170.52, which put them 28 points ahead of the next closest team and 14 points out of fourth place.
- The Miami Collegiate team is back in action at the Dr. Porter Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday, Dec. 6.
