Final Results

OXFORD, Ohio— The Miami University swimming and diving team hosted Oakland University on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. The women went on to defeat the Golden Grizzlies 218-82. The men completed the sweep by defeating Oakland 179-121.

How it Happened:

The meet kicked off with the women's 400 medley, where the women's A team took first and the women's B team placed second. Madeline Padavic, Natalie Gilson, Erin Szczupakiewicz and Kaylin Herbet turned in a combined time of 3:45.54 for the A team, while Ella Ziegert, Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz, Mady Bachmeier and Julia Waechter turned in a combined time of 3:51.19 for the B team.
Next was the men's 400 medley where the men's A team came away with a first place finish. Jensen Nelson, Benjamin Eichberg, Henju Duvenhage and Ian Kmiliauskis clocked a combined time of 3:17.92.
After that came the women's 1000-yard freestyle, where Katheryn Antonowich and Lauren Gualtieri came away with second and third place respectively. Antonowich put up a time of 10:35.99 and Gualtieri recorded a time of 10:39.70.
The men's 1000-yard freestyle was next, with Yonatan Rosin finishing second (9:40.99) and Jack Schardt taking fourth (9:51.34).
Herbet placed first in the women's 200-yard freestyle, putting up a time of 1:52.58. Szczupakiewicz finished right behind her in second place, recording a time of 1:54.76.
The men's 200-yard freestyle was next, where Bryce Menchhofer placed second with a time of 1:39.91. Maguire Sheppard and Allen Cotton were right behind him in third and fourth place, putting up times of 1:40.97 and 1:41.56 respectively.
Padavic finished first in the women's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.03. Ziegert came in second place, earning a time of 55.90.
Duvenhage was first in the men's 100-yard backstroke, putting up a time of 49.12. Nelson finished right behind him with a second-place time of 49.82.
In the women's 100-yard breaststroke, Emma Schueler finished first, clocking a time of 1:05.49. Janaszek-Seydlitz finished less than a second later, claiming second place with a time of 1:05.65.
After that came the men's 100-yard breaststroke, where Adrian Dulay produced a second-place finish (56.36). Ben Eichberg took third with a time of 56.74.
RedHawk swimmers took second and third in the women's 200-yard butterfly: Emily Rinker finished in 2:07.61 and Bachmeier posted a time of 2:08.76.
Aidan Jacobs finished first in the men's 200-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 1:51.43. Scott Spear came in fourth, putting up a time of 1:53.16.
Gilson secured a first-place finish in the women's 50-yard freestyle, turning in a time of 23.92. Waechter came in second place, recording a time of 24.06.
In the men's 50-yard freestyle, Kmiliauskis took first place with his time of 20.69. Tegan Barrier finished in second place, earning a time of 20.82.
The RedHawks captured first, second and third place in the women's 100-yard freestyle, led by Padavic (51.83). Waechter turned in a swim of 52.10 and Gilson recorded a time of 52.34.
The men followed suit in the 100-yard freestyle with Kmiliauskis placing first with a time of 45.45, Jack Herczeg placing second (46.00), and Barrier coming in third (46.35).
Chrisna Bezuidenhout earned a first-place finish in the women's 200-yard backstroke, putting up a time of 2:01.95. Angelina Cakuls placed second with a time of 2:02.73.
Nelson finished first in the men's 200-yard backstroke, recording a time of 1:49.58. Zach Bann finished third with a mark of 1:50.64.
The women's 200-yard breaststroke was next, and the RedHawks once again took first, second, and third. Janaszek-Seydlitz took home a first-place finish clocking a time of 2:24.54. Maddie Zehr finished second, turning in a time of 2:25.99. Kenadie Glasgow was third, putting up a time of 2:27.22.
After that came the men's 200 yard breaststroke, where Dulay finished in second place with a time of 2:05.79.
Audrey Conley placed first in the women's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.34. Antonowich came in third, earning a time of 5:07.25.
In the men's 500-yard freestyle, Menchhofer took second place with a time of 4:41.69. Rosin placed third with a time of 4:42.97.
Szczupakiewicz finished first in the women's 100-yard butterfly, turning in a time of 56.52. Ziegert came in fourth with a time of 57.58.
Duvenhage came away with a first-place finish in the men's 100-yard butterfly, recording a time of 48.48. Spear came in fourth, earning a time of 50.57.
The women's 200 IM was next, where Herbet grabbed a first-place finish with a time of 2:03.98. Piper Prince was next in second place, earning a time of 2:05.84.
After that came the men's 200 IM, where Drew Watson placed second with a time of 1:54.88. Paul Brosky came in fifth place, turning in a time of 1:55.78.
The women's events concluded with the 200 freestyle relay, where the women's A team took first place. Gilson, Jenna Halliday, Waechter and Padavic turned in a collective time of 1:34.68. The women's B team came in second, with Taylor Connors, Caitlin Horn, Schueler, and McKenzie Reid finishing in 1:36.10.
The men's events concluded with the 200 freestyle relay, where the men's A team took first place. Kmiliauskis, Herczeg, Duvenhage and Barrier turned in a collective time of 1:22.01.
For diving events, Mia Meinhardt took first place in the women's 1-meter dive with a score of 268.65. Sydney Rice came in third with a score of 266.10.
Jackson Miller earned a first-place finish in the men's 1-meter dive with a score of 269.48. Victor Hearn placed second, earning a score of 268.65.
Rice finished first in the women's 3-meter dive, tallying a score of 312.83. Meinhardt came in third with a score of 277.73.
Miller took home a first place finish in the men's 3-meter dive, recording a score of 285.83. Hearn took second with a score of 276.75.
