Women's Swim and Dive Take Down Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio— The Miami University women's swimming and diving team traveled to the University of Toledo to take on the Rockets Saturday. The RedHawks went on to defeat Toledo 188-107.
How it Happened:
- The meet started off with the women's 400-yard medley, where the women's A team placed first, The women's B team came in second, and the women's C team finished third. Madeline Padavic, Natalie Gilson, Erin Szczupakiewicz, and Kaylin Herbet posted a combined time of 3:46.80 for the A team. Ella Ziegert, Emma Schueler, McKenzie Reid and Julia Waechter turned in a combined time of 3:50.39 for the B team. Angelina Cakuls, Zofia Janaszek-Seydlitz, Makayla Hoehn and Jenna Halliday recorded a combined time of 3:55.24 for the C team.
- Casey Stephens finished first in the women's 1000-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 10:40.49. Audrey Conley came in second posting a time of 10:47.36.
- Up next was the women's 200-yard freestyle, where Katheryn Antonowich placed second, earning a time of 1:56.19. Szczupakiewicz came in third, recording a time of 1:57.66 .
- Chrisna Bezuidenhout came in first in the women's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.55. Halliday placed third, turning in a time of 57.94.
- In the women's 100-yard breaststroke, Herbet came in first, clocking a time of 1:04.08. Piper Prince finished in second with a time of 1:07.40.
- The women's 200-yard butterfly was next, where Mady Bachmeier finished first, putting up a time of 2:06.84. Emily Rinker was right behind her in second at 2:08.70, and Hoehn finished third with a mark of 2:11.83.
- Padavic placed first in the women's 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 24.01. Waechter finished second, turning in a time of 24.22.
- Next was the women's 100-yard freestyle, where Gilson placed first, recording a time of 52.37. Taylor Connors came in second with a time of 52.46.
- Ziegert earned herself a first-place finish in the women's 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.41. Cakuls placed second, recording a time of 2:07.09.
- The women's 500-yard freestyle was next, where Antonowich placed second at 5:11.41. Lauren Gualtieri finished third with a time of 5:13.68.
- Szczupakiewicz placed second in the women's 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 57.32. Ziegert was third, earning a time of 58.54.
- For diving events, Mia Meinhardt came in first place for the one-meter dive, turning in a score of 252.60. Vivian Niekamp placed second with a score of 243.30 and Sydney Rice came in third posting a score of 243.08.
- Meinhardt came in first in the three-meter dive, putting up a score of 267.00. Rice placed third with a score of 244.20.
UP NEXT: The Miami men and women will return to the pool against Xavier University on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. in Oxford in the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center for Senior Recognition day.
